Check the conditions
Check the predicted weather and swell conditions on the day and be aware of other hazards such as wildlife, traffic, bushfires, controlled burns, and erosion of tracks after storms.

Ensure your sports equipment is in good working order and you have sufficient supplies for addressing unforeseen challenges, such as punctures. Refill your first aid kit.
